Retirement after serving C E Edwards since 2004 Home > Retirement after serving C E Edwards since 2004

At the beginning of May, Bernard Tomkinson retired from C E Edwards after almost 11 years of sterling service to the company.

Bernard (Bernie) joined C E Edwards on the 8th November 2004,  as a Horizontal Borer and fitter and now, after more than 10 years with us, he is retiring for a welcome opportunity to spend more time with his family.

Bernie has a wealth of engineering skills and knowledge built up over a lifetime of experience that has served C E Edwards well over the past decade. His loud yet friendly manner will be missed by all of us that have worked with Bernie over the years.

Although it is always disappointing for C E Edwards to lose such experience,  Bernie hasn’t left us without ensuring a smooth transition following his departure. As well as continuing with his normal workload, Bernie has spent the last couple of months doing an excellent job of mentoring his replacement John who we are sure will continue to achieve the high standards set by Bernard.

Bernie lived only a mile from work and throughout his time at C E Edwards, he was a real handy man. He was always ready to turn his hand to help anyone around the factory.

We hope that he enjoys a long and fruitful retirement with his family and, being a bit of an ale and lager aficionado, has plenty of opportunity to crack open one or two of his favourite beers!

All the best Bernie…..
