When we set up the structure of Denholms/C E Edwards around a series of Manufacturing Cells, our intention was that customers could make use of our resources either from a single cell or a combination, to deliver a highly flexible capacity.

While the combination of different cells is central to this flexibility, we also continually strive to ensure that, even within a single cell, we have the scope to offer the engineering capacity our customers are looking for.

Small CNC Cell Developments

Our small CNC cell is a great example of how Denholms can undertake projects to manufacture smaller components, even in small batches, efficiently alongside other work.

Here are some examples of work from the Small CNC Cell where our machining capacity reflects our policy of ongoing investment.

Specialist Capacity

As well as general machining work, the Small CNC Cell offers some specialist capacity. This allows Denholms to undertake more complex work both quickly and efficiently. Here are 2 highlights:

CNC Horizontal Machining with Y Axis

The Doosan PUMA 2600LY is a horizontal turning centre with Y axis allows efficient machining of complex components. The unit is also ideal for working with special materials that can sometimes prove challenging to machine.

High-quality lapping for the ultimate finish

In addition, customers sometimes require an ultrafine finish on components. The lapping facilities in our Small CNC Cell enable us to offer the ultimate in face finishing on components.

Denholms can lap to 3 microfinishes. Consequently, we can ensure that customers get exactly what they need in their final components.
